Risk of heat exposure

Published on: 21/06/2023

Our body has a thermoregulatory system that allows us to keep a constant body temperature, using mechanisms such as vasodilation and perspiration/sweating to get rid of the heat that the body is constantly generating. In addition to this heat, there is also the heat produced by the physical activity required as part of our work.

Exposure to high temperatures can cause the physiological thermoregulatory response to be insufficient, causing stress due to heat, that if is not corrected, can produce a “sunstroke ”, serious disorder that it requires of urgent medical care.
