The cancer can have a wide variety of demonstrations, that is, the person can present different signs and symptoms. Manifestations of cancer in the earliest stages are often non-specific and are often present in other benign diseases. Therefore, it is important to remember that having them does not necessarily mean having cancer. There are cases of cancers without any manifestations, for example when the tumour is very small. This is why early detection cancer screening campaigns are so useful.


Risk factors

  • Skin colour: skin cancer is more common in people with light skin, eyes and hair.
  • Have many common moles: more than 50 moles.
  • Genetics: having a family history of melanoma (a type of skin cancer) increases the risk of developing skin cancer.

  • Sunscalds in the childhood: sunburn when you are young increases the risk of skin cancer years later.
