Alert when dealing with hazardous substances
The European Agency for the Security and the Health at Work (EU-OSHA) carried out a campaign of field European during 2018 and 2019, dedicated to the prevention of the risks for exhibition to hazardous substances in the workplaces: alert when dealing with hazardous substances .
The objective it is to reduce the exhibition to hazardous substances in the workplaces , raising awareness on risks and ways more effective to prevent them, being a specific objective carcinogenic agents. The National Health and Safety at work Institute (INSST) completed the campaign “Avoid today the work cancer of tomorrow". This campaign took place between on 24 January and on 13 February 2022.
Hazardous substances are still an important issue for the security and the health in the position of work. Effects of the exhibition to chemical agents cover from temporary or slight damages to the health, as an irritation of the skin, until acute or chronic illnesses serious, as they are respiratory diseases, and illnesses that can cause the death, as the asbestosis or the cancer.
The campaign finished in November 2019 with the delivery of the European awards to best practices, that are given as an examination of the exceptional and innovative solutions.
