Census of asbestos in buildings

The European strategy of eradication of the asbestos recommends to the member countries that in 2032 has been finished the dropped out of the installed ACM, prioritising public buildings whose objective date is the 2028.

In this line, Spain establishes in the Act 7/2022 the obligation to town councils of elaborating a census of facilities and buildings of its municipality (private and public) with ACM together with a calendar to plan its retreat. In 2028 must be managed public facilities with major risk.

The Ministry of Health Care has published “Guidelines for the dropped out of the installed asbestos” (June 2024) to provide the elaboration of a census of facilities and locations with asbestos of way attuned throughout the whole of Spain and to prioritise its retreat according to dangerousness and exhibition criteria to the town.
