Common illness and non-work-related injury

This is a situation in which a worker or self-employed worker, due to a non work-related injury or disease, cannot work and receives health care by the Public Health System. The doctors of the Social Security determine the sick leave and return to work.

Cash benefit

  • From the 1st - 3rd day of sick leave (inclusive) payable by the worker

  • From the 4th - 15th day of sick leave
    60% of the regulatory base payable by the company

  • From the 16th - 20th day of sick leave
    60% of the regulatory base payable by Mutua Universal

  • From the 21st day of sick leave
    75% of the regulatory base payable by Mutua Universal

  • Maximum duration is 365 days. It can be extended by another 180 days when it is presumed that the worker will be cured.

 What are the procedures that the company has to carry out?

  1. Process the worker's sick leave through the Network System within 3 business days

  2. Process the confirmation report through the Network System within 3 business days

  3. End of sick leave through the Network System within 3 business days

 Which are the procedures that the self-employed worker has to carry out?

  1. Self-employed workers are looked after in a Public health service centre
  2. Submits the sick leave certificate within 3 business days

  3. Submits the regular confirmation certificates within 3 business days

  4. Submits the return to work certificate within 24 hours
