Awareness activities

Published on: 13/01/2016

Awareness activities aim to implement safe work guidelines to improve the attitude and awareness of employees both in the work centre and when travelling for work. The methods used turn the activities into attractive, stimulating and learning events, where workers are actively involved, strengthening their commitment and improving their attitudes when dealing with risks.

Programmes for generating good guidelines

Good guidelines

The purpose of this programme is to spontaneously and naturally change (without impositions or sanctions) the way of carrying out a certain task so the worker carries it out safely.

It is targeted at every company where, after having made all the necessary technical, economic and organisational efforts for ensuring workers' health and safety, they believe they can still achieve better results in safety terms by working on the prevention culture among the staff. It aims to stress to a significant group of workers that they carry out an unsafe action that causes accidents (or even it does not cause them, the potential of serious harm is high).

A working group is set up with staff from the company that will have several meetings in order to:

  • Confirm there is a need and opportunity to act against an unsafe act.
  • Choose a slogan that alludes to what you want to achieve.
  • Define the instrument that it will serve from support to the slogan to move it to the workers, places where they go going to place and the time that this slogan has be exposed.
  • Verify the programme's effectiveness.
