What situation protects this benefit?

Death and survivors' benefits are cash benefits that try to compensate for the financial needs of certain people that arise from the death of others.

These benefits are included in the protective action of both the general and special schemes.

Mutua Universal covers death and survival resulting from work-related injuries and occupational diseases by offering the following benefits:

  • We assume the cost of one-off benefits deriving from a work-related injury or occupational disease by directly paying the beneficiary a lump-sum, the death grant and the family members' benefit. One-off payments (with the exception of the death grant) deriving from work-related injury and occupational disease are subject to tax under the terms established in Article 17.2 of Act 35/2006 on Personal Income Tax (IRPF).
  • We assume the cost of pensions deriving from work-related injuries and occupational diseases by establishing the corresponding capital cost with the Central Treasury for Social Security.
